Greg Biffle represents hope for Roush Fenway Racing resurgence

We saw Greg Biffle in his Roush Fenway Racing Ford make some noise the last two weeks in Charlotte.

It has fans asking me repeatedly if the Roush Fenway Fords are back. Most definitely they have found something, but obviously we need to see them perform consistently on the track before we can declare them back.

The Roush cars in both the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and the XFINITY Series are definitely running better. I was at the Roush Fenway shops the other day visiting with some of the crew chiefs. I'll be honest, I saw something over there I haven't seen in a long time and that was smiles from those guys.

None of them believe Biffle's Charlotte success, which included a second-place finish in the Coca-Cola 600, is a fluke and they have full confidence we are going to see them become more and more competitive as the season goes on. We've always known it wasn't the motors as the Roush-Yates power plants are really strong.

Now that they have seemingly gotten their chassis/aero issue worked out, there could be a new player in the mix when it comes down to the 2015 Chase for the Sprint Cup.

So for those fans out there who already wanted to write off the Roush Fenway Fords of Greg Biffle, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and Trevor Bayne, I think you will be making a big mistake if you do.

After talking to them over there -- plus seeing and feeling their renewed confidence -- I think we'll see them more of a factor in practice, qualifying and the races than you have in a long time.
