Germain Racing to run Fords in 2012
Germain Racing is changing manufacturers, to Ford, for the 2012 NASCAR Sprint Cup season, team owner Bob Germain Jr. announced Friday.
Casey Mears will continue to drive for the organization.
“The Germains have a long history with Ford Motor Co.," Germain said. "My grandfather worked with Henry Ford as an accountant and my father worked as a guide in the Henry Ford Museum. Our family currently owns and operates both Ford and Lincoln dealerships and we have many friends at Ford Motor Company. I'm excited to join the Ford Racing team."
Germain Racing has secured two NASCAR championship titles, both in the Camping World Truck Series with driver Todd Bodine, and 22 Truck victories over the years.
“Germain Racing is focused on getting strong results for our GEICO Fusion program," said Germain, whose team has agreements with Roush Yates Engines and Roush Fenway Racing for the coming year. "Heading into NASCAR’s first season of electronic fuel injection, we are extremely confident in the technology and engines . . . that we will race this season."
