Domenicali rules out 2nd grand prix in Italy

Ferrari team principal Stefano Domenicali says there is only room for one grand prix race in Italy.

Monza has been the traditional location for the Italian Grand Prix, but in recent years Rome has put itself forward to host a race around the streets of Italy's capital.

Domenicali told the Ferrari website that the sport is ''increasingly expanding the number of countries hosting a grand prix'' and it is ''inevitable that it will no longer be possible to have two races in the same nation.''

Spain is the only country to host two grand prix races, with the Spanish Grand Prix in Barcelona and the European in Valencia.
