Dillon wins ARCA race after late restart

Ty Dillon won the ARCA race at Michigan International Speedway on Friday after leader Cale Gale appeared to have a tire problem near the end.

Gale led for 64 of 100 laps, but he went crashing into the restraining wall on lap 95, putting the field under caution. After the restart, Dillon held off Max Gresham by 0.118 seconds in a frantic finish.

Gale finished 19th.

Dillon, the points standings leader, won for the fourth time in eight starts this season.

Tim George Jr., who won the rain-shortened ARCA race last weekend at Pocono Raceway for his first victory in 50 career starts in the series, finished third in Michigan. He was followed by Chad Hackenbracht and Chris Buescher.
