NASCAR has penalized the No. 3 Nationwide Series team of Austin Dillon following rule infractions discovered during postrace inspection Friday at Kentucky Speedway.

Dillon has been docked six championship points, which will cost him the lead in the standings. He did have a two-point lead in the championship race, but will now trail Elliott Sadler by four.

Dillon's Richard Childress Racing entry was found to be in violation of the rule concerning minimum rear body height requirements.

Crew chief Danny Stockman Jr. has been fined $10,000, while owner of record Morgan Shepherd and Dillon have been penalized with the loss of six championship owner and six championship driver points, respectively. Stockman and car chief Robert Strmiska will remain on NASCAR probation until Dec. 31.
