Danica helps send Keselowski on long slide early in Aaron's 499

Published May. 4, 2014 2:23 p.m. ET

Brad Keselowski went for a long slide in his No. 2 Team Penske Ford after attempting to take the lead early in the Aaron's 499 Sunday at Talladega Superspeedway, with a little help from the No. 10 Stewart-Haas Racing Chevrolet of Danica Patrick.

Although Keselowski miraculously avoided major contact from cars behind him in the rest of the field, he did suffer damage to a radiator hose in the incident. It had to be repaired and he was seven laps down by the time he returned to the race, effectively ending any chance he had of winning or even posting a strong finish.

Patrick did not suffer any damage to her car and remained on the lead lap.
