According to an HMS spokesperson, the crew was turning from an access road into the tunnel of Phoenix International Raceway when its van was hit from behind. The van was carrying six crew members.

The spokesperson added that it would have no effect on the team's performance as everyone was checked at the infield care center and released.

Earnhardt starts 18th in Sunday's race.
