Dale Jr. proposes to longtime girlfriend during vacation in Germany
Dale Earnhardt Jr. and girlfriend Amy Reimann are on vacation in Germany during this off week in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series to learn about Earnhardt's heritage.
It turns out Junior had other plans in mind too.
NASCAR's most popular driver popped the question to Reimann while visiting a Lutheran church he says his family attended some 300 years prior. Earnhardt has been giving fans a thorough play-by-play of his trip to Germany and where his family emigrated from in 1744.
But back to the big question: Did she say yes? Indeed. Very enthusiastically, too.
I'm completely overwhelmed with love & joy. Happiest girl in the world! I love you so much @DaleJr pic.twitter.com/lBxbFLJ4xf

The couple has been together for more than three years and shares a residence, but Junior downplayed marriage talk earlier this year in the lead-up to the Daytona 500.
Appearing on "The Dan Patrick Show," he was asked if the couple was engaged yet and said, "Not yet. Me and Amy are doing great, though, and we're heading in the right direction."
Pressed by the host, who suggested it would be memorable to propose on-air, Earnhardt said: "If I want to get engaged, I don't want to spoil the surprise on Dan Patrick's radio show."
"It's not the time," Earnhardt added. "The timing's not right."
Apparently, a vacation abroad is the right time.
Congrats to the happy couple.
