Clint Bowyer will replace John Wes Townley in the No. 21 Zaxby’s Chevrolet for the Bashas' Supermarkets 200 on Friday.

Townley, 20, wrecked his car 25 laps into Friday morning’s Nationwide Series practice. He was 17th fastest on the speed chart at the time of the incident.

Townley is currently 17th in the NNS points. His best finish this season was 15th at Las Vegas Motors Speedway on Feb. 27.

Mike Dillon, Vice President of Competition for Richard Childress Racing, said Townley's  “not feeling too good right now" which led to the driver change.

Bowyer won this Nationwide race in 2007. He’s completed every lap of NNS competition he’s raced and boasts an average finish of 6.7 at the 1-mile venue.
