AVONDALE, Ariz. (AP) Kurt Busch's car owner did not consider removing him from the car while police in Delaware investigate a claim of domestic assault made by his former girlfriend.
Gene Haas, the co-owner of Stewart-Haas Racing, said before Sunday's race at Phoenix International Raceway that ''there's two sides to every story'' and he had no problem allowing Busch to race. Haas hand-picked Busch to drive a new fourth car for SHR, and Haas Automation is the sponsor.
Said Haas as he stood next to Busch's No. 41 Chevrolet on pit road: ''Let's just let the police do their job. I hope they do a professional job and I want them to be unbiased, and I think when that happens, we'll all be good.''
