Lee Johnston, who is the defending “Man of the Meeting” after winning three of the races at last year’s Ulster Grand Prix, may not even be able to make the start of this year’s event.

Johnston was turning laps on a 250 Honda around the 7.3-mile Dundrod Circuit in Belfast, Northern Ireland, on Wednesday afternoon in rainy conditions. The 27-year-old went down on the course, and was taken to hospital with a suspected broken collar bone.

Gary Johnson is en route to Dundrod to sub for Johnston in the likely event that he is unable to compete in Saturday’s races.
