Chad Head tops Funny Car qualifying in Kansas

TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) Second-generation driver Chad Head topped Funny Car qualifying Saturday in the NHRA Kansas Nationals at Heartland Park Topeka.
Head took the top spot with his Friday run at a track-record 3.967 seconds at 316.15 mph in a Toyota Camry. On Saturday, the drivers got in one qualifying attempt before rain washed out the final session.
Antron Brown remained the fastest in Top Fuel, and Erica Enders held onto the Pro Stock lead, both with their Friday runs. Brown had a track-record time of 3.727 at 313.37 in his Don Schumacher Racing dragster, and Enders finished in 6.515 at 211.43 in a Chevy Camaro.
