Major League Soccer side Chivas USA has sacked coach Martin Vasquez after one season.
The team said Wednesday that Vasquez was released from his contract immediately and the search for a new coach is underway. The team had a record of eight wins against 18 losses this season and reached the U.S. Open Cup semifinals.
Vasquez became head coach last December, having served as an assistant with the team from 2005-07. He was an assistant at Bayern Munich in Germany in 2008-09.
