Toronto pressed in the second half, but was unable to score. Joe Bendik had a quiet second half in the Toronto goal.
With top strikers Danny Koevermans and Robert Earnshaw out injured, Toronto started Jeremy Brockie and Justin Braun up front.
Toronto (2-10-8) has been shut out in its past three road games, a goalless drought that has reached 319 minutes.
Chicago Fire 4, DC United 1
Chris Rolfe scored twice, Joel Lindpere scored his first goal of the season and added two assists and the Chicago Fire beat D.C. United 4-1 on Saturday.
The victory, which snapped a two-match losing streak, moved the Fire (7-9-3) into seventh place in the Eastern Conference. Chicago is 4-2-0 in its past six matches.
D.C.'s road futility continued. United (2-14-4) is 0-7-3 away from home, and 1-3-1 in its past five matches overall.
LA Galaxy 2, Vancouver Whitecaps 1
Teen forward Jose Villarreal and rookie Gyasi Zardes scored goals, and the Los Angeles Galaxy rallied Saturday to beat the Vancouver Whitecaps 2-1.
Villarreal, 19, poked home Omar Gonzalez's header from a free kick in the 29th minute to level the score - a goal that was initially waved off as offside - and Zardes, 21, scored the winner in the 57th minute.
The Galaxy (10-8-3), who started the game in sixth place in the Western Conference, vaulted past Vancouver (9-6-5), FC Dallas and Colorado into third. Los Angeles was without both of its designated players - Robbie Keane strained a hip flexor last week, and Landon Donovan is with the U.S. national team at the CONCACAF Gold Cup - and winger Robbie Rogers, who has a right hamstring injury.
Real Salt Lake 1, Sporting KC 2
Once Sporting Kansas City gained a man advantage over Real Salt Lake, they attacked the box repeatedly, turning broken plays into second chances and doing everything to keep the ball alive.
''We just try and keep it active,'' defender Ike Opara said. ''That's our goal if we can't get the first clean one off.''
Opara delivered the final blow himself, scoring in the final minute of stoppage time to give Sporting Kansas City a 2-1 victory over Real Salt Lake on Saturday night.
Soony Saad had a goal in the 68th minute for Sporting KC, which made the most of a man advantage.
Robbie Findley scored in the 56th minute for RSL, which went a man down in the 67th minute when Chris Wingert was shown his second yellow card and ejected from the match. Wingert will sit out against the New York Red Bulls next Saturday, dealing a blow to an already thin RSL backline.
Columbus Crew 0, New England Revolution 2
Jose Goncalves and Diego Fagundez scored in second-half stoppage time to give the New England Revolution a 2-0 victory against the Columbus Crew on Saturday.
Goncalves in the 91st minute got his first career goal by heading a corner kick from Lee Nguyen. The ball skipped past goalkeeper Andy Gruenebaum as the Revolution's A.J. Soares provided a distraction in front.
''It was a good ball from Lee at the back post,'' Goncalves said. ''I was in a great position. I was just thinking, `I will not miss it.'''
Philadelphia Union 0, Portland Timbers 0
The Portland Timbers continued their strong play on the road with a scoreless draw against the Philadelphia Union on Saturday.
The Timbers (8-2-10) improved to 2-1-8 on the road and moved within three points of Real Salt Lake for first place in the Western Conference.
Portland also pushed its all-time mark to 2-0-2 against the Union.
Montreal Impact 0, FC Dallas 0
The winless streaks dragged on for the Montreal Impact and FC Dallas, as the teams played to a scoreless draw on Saturday night.
Montreal (9-5-5) has gone five games without a victory, while Dallas (8-5-8) has not won since May 25 and is winless in seven - eight if a U.S. Open Cup game is counted.
The Impact drew their first sellout of the season of 20,801, a record at Saputo Stadium, where some space was added this year. Despite the fans' roars, they saw the Impact shut out at home for the first time this season.
Seattle Sounders 1, Colorado Rapids 1
Seattle's DeAndre Yedlin scored his first career goal five minutes after Colorado took the lead, and the short-handed Sounders tied the Rapids 1-1 Saturday.
The Sounders would have set an MLS record if they had beaten the Rapids an eighth straight time.
Drew Moor tapped in a goal off a corner from Nick LaBrocca to give the Rapids (8-7-7) a 1-0 lead in the 60th minute. Moor got in front of defender Jhon Kennedy Hurtado for the open shot in front of the net.
