Rays ace Chris Archer teases Red Sox fan in Snapchat takeover
Tampa Bay Rays right-hander Chris Archer took over MLB's Snapchat account on Tuesday, giving fans an inside look at spring training in Port Charlotte, Fla.
Archer took selfies and "snapped" about everything from facial hair and "scolding people" to long-toss and team drills, then ended his Snapchat takeover by showing a little love to the fans.
But one fan, as Archer pointed out, was sporting a Boston Red Sox cap, which didn't sit well with the Rays ace.
"So, this young man right here wanted a picture, but his mom had this [Red Sox] hat. Sorry kid, not happenin'."
Pretty harsh.
But it turns out Archer was only kidding.
Archer also gave a shoutout to Blue Jays ace Marcus Stroman, whom he referred to as a "superstar" who was "too busy to hang out" over the offseason. The message to his AL East rival was surely in good fun.
