Matheny's entire Cardinals coaching staff returning for 2016

For the first time in Mike Matheny's career as St. Louis Cardinals manager, he won't have to replace any coaches heading into next season (as reported by MLB.com's Jennifer Langosch).

Instead, general manager John Mozeliak and the organization gave the coaches on Matheny's staff extensions after their 2015 season came to an end.

That means that Matheny and his eight-man coaching staff will all return for 2016, coming off a 100-win season that ended in an NLDS defeat at the hands of the Chicago Cubs.

The coaches returning include the following:

Chris Maloney (first base coach)

Jose Oquendo (third base coach)

David Bell (bench coach)

John Mabry (hitting coach)

Derek Lilliquist (pitching coach)

Bill Mueller (assistant hitting coach)

Jamie Pogue (bullpen catcher)

Blaise Isley (bullpen coach)

Langosch noted that before the 2015 campaign, Matheny and the Cards lost bench coach Mike Aldrete to the Oakland Athletics.
