Buster Posey stared down his own pitcher after getting crossed up

San Francisco Giants pitcher Jeff Samardzija has a pretty solid pitch arsenal and anything he throws, he's capable of throwing it really hard. His fastball typically sits around 93-97 MPH and he's been known to hit 99 MPH with his sinker, which is pretty impressive.

Thankfully, the heat-throwing righty has one of the best catchers in the game in Buster Posey, who handles the Giants pitching staff like a champ, literally.

But during Wednesday's 1-0 victory over the Marlins, Samardzija and his faithful battery mate got crossed up, leading to a heater that nearly took off Posey's head.

Posey then had the perfect reaction to his teammate's wild pitch.

Posey has been sporting the hockey-style catching helmet since 2012 -- and now we understand why.
