David Feherty believes Tiger Woods may never come back
The golf world is still awaiting the return of Tiger Woods, but Woods' mixed signals about his comeback have left many fans, analysts and fellow pros wondering if the 14-time major champion will ever tee it up professionally. Woods hit a few shots on national television last week after saying that he isn't sure if he'll play "next week or next year," and hit three consecutive shots in the water at Congressional Country Club.
Woods had two major back surgeries in 2014 and 2015 and a follow up procedure done last October to "relieve discomfort." Woods suffers from a pinched nerve and had two microdiscectomies to correct the problem, but it's clear from looking at his swing in 2016 that he isn't the same golfer.
Former golf pro and longtime commentator David Feherty gave his own sobering take on Woods' condition while in Ireland to speak at a GolfNow event. According to Feherty, Woods' nebulous back problem suggests that he might not be able to ever fully recover.

Feherty also noted that he doesn't expect any of golf's young stars to be able to match the type of dominance that Woods achieved, but pegged fellow Northern Irishman Rory McIlroy to more than double his current major total of four.
