USC Injury Report: Zach Banner Unable To Practice (10/4)

Published Jun. 30, 2017 6:28 p.m. ET

Offensive tackle Zach Banner remained out with an ankle injury Tuesday while several other Trojans were dinged up. Here’s our USC injury report for Colorado Week.

Zach Banner sat out USC’s big win over ASU on Saturday with his ankle at 90 percent. However, the right tackle still wasn’t back to full speed on Tuesday as the Trojans began preparations to face Colorado.

After practice, head coach Clay Helton said that Banner tried to practice but had to be pulled with the sprain still bothering him.

Banner will be reevaluated on Wednesday to see where he is at, but for now, back up Chuma Edoga has stood in for his injured teammate with the first team at right tackle.

USC Injury Report:

In addition to Banner, the Trojans were without safety Ykili Ross on Tuesday as the defender deals with a shoulder sprain. Helton indicated he is 50-50 to suit up when Colorado comes to the Coliseum.

Cornerback Jonathan Locket has a similar injury, which he suffered on Saturday against the Sun Devils, but he was able to practice without issue.

At linebacker, Jabari Ruffin is also 50-50 for Saturday after suffering a concussion. He will continue to sit out practice as he goes through concussion protocol.

The Trojans have a couple of issues at running back with both Dominic Davis and Aca’Cedric Ware trying to shake off injuries. Davis hyper-extended his knee last week but was back in action on Tuesday.

Ware injured his hand during Saturday’s game and remains sore, but Helton said x-rays came back negative on the sophomore running back.

Finally, tight end Taylor McNamara was held out of practice Tuesday with a lower back strain. His progress will be monitored through the week in hopes that he will be able to play against the Buffaloes.
