Two QBs better than one for McElwain and Florida
Will Grier and Treon Harris have battled each other fiercely for the starting quarterback job at Florida.
Once Harris was announced as the starter, it was also reported Grier would see time.
Based upon the opener, it appears to have been a very smart decision by Florida head coach Jim McElwain.
Both quarterbacks were incredibly efficient in the 61-13 drubbing of New Mexico State. Harris went 14-of-19 for 215 yards and two touchdowns. Not to be outdone, Grier was 15-of-17 for 164 yards and two touchdowns. He also ran for 43 yards and a touchdown on only four carries.

Yes...this is New Mexico State. The statistical output by both quarterbacks needs to be kept in perspective. With that said, the numbers by both players are certainly encouraging. It will be fascinating to see how the Gators' offense fares against a tougher opponent in East Carolina this upcoming Saturday.
