Towson snaps 6-game slide with 23-6 win over Elon

TOWSON, Md. (AP) Morgan Mahalak threw for two touchdowns as Towson snapped a six-game slide with a 23-6 win over Elon on Saturday.
Mahalak had 148 yards on 12-of-24 passing for the Tigers (2-7, 1-5 Colonial Athletic Association). Shane Simpson ran for 187 yards and Aidan O'Neill kicked three field goals.
Mahalak threw a 24-yard touchdown pass to Christian Summers in the first quarter and O'Neill kicked field goals from 47 and 37 yards in the first half to lift the Tigers to a 13-3 advantage at the break.
Elon's John Gallagher kicked his second field goal of the day to cut the Towson lead to 13-6 with 1:14 left in the third quarter.
In the fourth, Mahalak found Andre Dessenberg for a 26-yard touchdown midway through and O'Neill kicked his third field goal to make it 23-6 with 4:58 to play.
Daniel Thompson had 130 yards passing for the Phoenix (2-7, 1-5).
