Top 2017 defensive end legacy picks up offer from Crimson Tide

2017 prospect Justin Thomas knows all about Alabama.
Not only did he grow up in the state in nearby Spanish Fort, but his father -- Atlas Herrion -- was an offensive lineman for the Crimson Tide in the early 2000's.
Fast-forward 15 years, and Thomas may ultimately end up at his father's alma mater.
The 6'5", 250-pound recruit recently picked up an offer from Alabama. It was his first SEC offer, and fourth overall -- joining interest from South Alabama, UAB, and Iowa State.
Blessed to receive a offer to the University of Alabama!!!!!!?? pic.twitter.com/Le36GihRIY

Thomas is a bit raw as currently constituted. Formerly a basketball player, he very recently made the transition over from the hardwood to the gridiron.
He's got terrific length, quickness, and overall athleticism. Thomas accrued an impressive 11.0 sacks and 55 tackles last year for his high school program. In essence, his upside is off the charts.
Credit Nick Saban for getting out early on the talented legacy somewhat hanging under-the-radar. It likely won't be too long before Thomas' recruitment completely blows up.
