Toledo wins 52-16, gets share of division crown
YPSILANTI, Mich. (AP) Logan Woodside passed for a career-high five touchdowns and Toledo rolled over Eastern Michigan 52-16 on Friday to clinch a share of the Mid-American West crown.
Despite gaining a piece of the division title, the Rockets won't be going to the conference championship game, having lost to West co-champion Northern Illinois 27-24 on Nov. 11.
The Rockets (8-4, 7-1) took a 42-9 lead in the first half with Woodside throwing touchdown passes of 41 yards to Corey Jones, 22 yards to Justin Olack, 89 yards to Kishon Wilcher and 59 yards to Alonzo Russell. Woodside also had an 11-yarder to Michael Roberts in the third.
Woodside was 14 of 18 for 323 yards. Kareem Hunt ran for 110 yards and a touchdown on 22 carries, surpassing 100 yards for the 10th straight time. Toledo finished with 513 yards of offense.
Reginald Bell Jr. threw two touchdown passes for the Eagles (2-10, 1-7).
