Texas A&M gets commitment from four-star DE Mark Jackson

Published May. 30, 2015 6:42 p.m. ET

The Aggies got good news this weekend as they land their first defensive lineman of their 2016 recruiting class with the commitment of four-star defensive end Mark Jackson Jr.

Jackson should help continue to build depth along the front seven for new defensive coordinator John Chavis, as the team looks to rebound from a season in which they finished ranked 111th against the rush, 83rd against the pass and 108th in total defense in 2014.

Jackson currently has an offer sheet that includes Arizona State, Arkansas, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, TCU and Texas among many others.

The Cibolo, Texas native becomes the eighth commitment for the Aggies in their 2016 class, all of which are from the Lone Star State.
