Sooner QBs are on a 'Pitch Count'

The starting quarterback question has not been answered yet at Oklahoma, but the Sooner quarterbacks are exactly even when it comes to one thing.

“We have our guys on a pitch count every day,” new offensive coordinator Lincoln Riley said. “Not a certain number, but it’s something that we monitor. To a point, everybody’s different. That’s something we started charting a long, long time ago. It’s something that was probably charted before I did it. We did it at Texas Tech."

Riley, as well as coach Bob Stoops, have said quarterbacks Baker Mayfield and Trevor Knight have both dealt with some shoulder fatigue during the summer, but that both are fine now.

Most think Mayfield, the transfer from Texas Tech, will get the starting job. However, Knight, beat Alabama in the Sugar Bowl two seasons ago, and has an 11-4 record as a starter in the past two seasons.
