Oklahoma is loaded at running back with record-holder Samaje Perine as well as electric Alex Ross.

And now Joe Mixon is part of the group, too, after sitting out all of last season.

Expect all three to get plenty of opportunities in 2015.

But also check out Daniel Brooks.

After a torn ACL, MCL, LCL meniscus and hamstring from a track injury, Brooks came to Oklahoma, but he's also still waiting for a chance to show what he can do after three seasons in Norman, Okla.

“There’s a place for Daniel,” said OU coach Bob Stoops to The Oklahoman. “He makes some good plays, not only special teams-wise but with the offense so hopefully he can keep finding his niche. We’ll keep looking for it for him.”

This could be the season. OU has installed the new Air-Raid offense and the chance for Brooks, who has 4.4 speed, is closer than ever.

Twice he's led the team in rushing yards at the Spring Game but Brooks has never had the chance to show it during the season. The former four-star recruit has just six carries in his career for the Sooners.

“This offense is so spread out,” Brooks said to The Oklahoman. “All of us at the running back position have so many opportunities. It’s chance for me to split out wide. I get some reverses. I line up in the backfield. There are screens. There are a variety of things I can do. It’s a great opportunity for me and a great chance to show my talents.”
