Report: Oklahoma LB arrested for DUI
Oklahoma reserve linebacker Londell Taylor was arrested for drunk driving about an hour after the Sooners' victory over Missouri last weekend, the Tulsa World reported Thursday.
Taylor, a 23-year-old freshman, was involved in an accident near campus and left the scene before police arrived, according to the World. Once police caught up with him, he reportedly registered a blood alcohol level of 0.14, nearly twice the legal limit, and was arrested.
According to police, Taylor was also charged for leaving the scene of an accident and for failing to show an insurance card.
Taylor reportedly posted a $1,000 bond and was released. He is due to appear in court Oct. 11.
Taylor originally signed with Oklahoma out of high school in 2007, but decided to pursue baseball instead after being drafted in the 13th round by the Detroit Tigers.
Taylor, who underwent shoulder surgery in the offseason, spent four years in the minor leagues before opting to return to football.
