The running back from Mililani High School in Hawaii had been committed to Oregon for some time; however, a late visit to Los Angeles last weekend swayed his decision.
In 2011, Oregon got a late visit from RB De'Anthony Thomas and used the visit to flip Thomas from Oregon to USC. This time around, it's the Ducks who got burned by the late visit.
Malepeai holds Hawaii state records for rushing yards and rushing touchdowns.
The 6-foot, 200-pound running back is ranked as the No. 8 running back in the country and the No. 217 player in the 2016 class.
