UCLA quarterback Jerry Neuheisel, a redshirt junior, will not return to play for the Bruins next season, according to head coach Jim Mora.

Neuheisel, the son of former UCLA quarterback and head coach Rick Neuheisel, is expected to remain in the program as a graduate assistant.

“I don’t expect he will go very far,” Mora said, per the Los Angeles Times.

Neuheisel has spent the past three seasons as a backup QB to Brett Hundley in 2013 and 2014 and to Josh Rosen this season. His best game was last season's 20-17 victory over Texas in which he led the Bruins to a come from behind victory.
