The plight of any walk-on athlete is considerable.

Not enjoying all of the perks of a scholarship athlete, these players have to work even harder as a means to stick on their respective team. The love of the game -- or university -- is treasured despite the potential hardships from a financial standpoint. There are countless examples of walk-on players rising up amidst difficulty to contribute on a high level.

One of those players is Missouri running back Tyler Hunt.

On Instagram, Hunt posted a picture with a very passionate, heart-felt message speaking about what the sport of football means to him.

Hunt was recently nominated for the Burlsworth Trophy -- an award given to the nation's top athlete beginning his career as a walk-on. On the year, Hunt has registered the longest reception and longest rush for the Tigers.
