Ohio State Football: After The Storm, Who Would Show Up But Noah?

Maybe it just took a rainstorm for Ohio State wide receiver Noah Brown to display his incredible ability.

For the second game in a row the Ohio State football team experienced a game delay because of a storm. Last night in Norman, the delay was before the game even began. What a surprise, after the downpour a guy named Noah made his presence felt for the Buckeyes.

Ohio State coaches and players have been touting Noah Brown’s big play ability for over a year. Unfortunately, last year he suffered a season ending leg injury before the first game in 2015. But last night, he showed the football world what the fuss was all about.

Brown had five receptions for 72 yards and four touchdowns. He had three TD receptions in the first half, and his catch with six seconds left in the second quarter was one for the ages, and will be shown all season and beyond.

Ohio State had the ball on the Oklahoma 21 yard line with time winding down. Quarterback J.T. Barrett realized Brown was being covered one on one by a cornerback and threw a jump ball to the wide receiver in the left corner of the end zone.

Brown was defended as well as he could have been on the play. He jumped in the air and caught the football behind the back of the defender with one hand and then secured it with the other. Brown got both feet down in bounds, while hugging the ball as well as the cornerback, as he was falling out of bounds.

Brown sure lived up to the accolades teammates have been giving him. They refer to his hands of being like suction cups. When he gets those hands on a football it’s a catch.

Ohio State players have also said Brown is unguardable. He certainly was that against the Sooners.

With his five receptions against Oklahoma, Brown now has nine for the season. His five receiving touchdowns is tied for the most in the nation.

Now that Noah Brown has had his breakout game, just what can we expect from the redshirt sophomore the rest of the season? I have a feeling there are more terrific plays to come.
