New Oklahoma OC Riley arrived, and quarterbacks are following

Lincoln Riley might not exactly be the Pied Piper, but the Air Raid offense he's bringing back to Oklahoma is quickly attracting top-flight quarterback prospects.

On Friday, Riley and the Sooners picked up a 2017 commitment from Mesquite (Texas) Horn quarterback Chris Robison, a four-star prospect. Robison is Riley's second big catch at the position since being hired five months ago. In April, Austin Kendall out of North Carolina made his commitment to the Sooners' 2016 class.

According to The Oklahoman, Robison, a dual-threat-type quarterback, is the earliest quarterback commit in the Bob Stoops era. Kendall is more of a pro-style quarterback. That both are intrigued by running the Air Raid offense is a sign that Stoops made the right move in changing offenses.

It's something of a blast from the past. When Stoops was hired in 1998, he brought in Mike Leach, whose Air Raid offense would go on to revolutionize how offense was played in the Big 12 Conference.

In his second year, Stoops' Sooners won the national title with quarterback Josh Heupel. Interestingly, Riley was hired to replace Heupel as offensive coordinator.

As for the upcoming 2015 season, Riley and Stoops have yet to announce if they will go with Texas Tech transfer Baker Mayfield or stick with inconsistent incumbent Trevor Knight.
