Malzahn expects to start Jeremy Johnson at quarterback

AUBURN, Ala. (AP) Jeremy Johnson will likely remain Auburn's starting quarterback for the Tigers' game against Idaho on Saturday.

Tigers coach Gus Malzahn said Tuesday Sean White is still nursing a left knee injury. Malzahn says Auburn has ''got to get him healthy before he gets back on the field.''

Both quarterbacks played in a loss to Georgia, when Johnson started his second straight game. Johnson's 14 completions went for just 61 yards with an interception on a bad overthrow.

White was 1 of 5 for zero yards with an interception and a fumble.

Malzahn said Auburn coaches thought White's knee was healthier than it was before the Georgia game.

Auburn's only other option is receiver Jonathan Wallace, who started his college career at quarterback.
