Louisville Football: Top quotes from Bobby Petrino's Monday press conference

Louisville football head coach Bobby Petrino answered some questions today about the Cardinals and how they are viewing the rest of the 2016 season.

The Louisville football team is on a collision course with the College Football Playoff in 2016. There is still much more that the Cardinals need to accomplish before they can get there, but the future looks bright right now. Louisville shocked the nation by beating the Florida State Seminoles last Saturday 63-20.

Lamar Jackson and head coach Bobby Petrino also have the Cardinals in great position to win the ACC this season. However, they will need to go through the defending conference champions Clemson Tigers in a few weeks.

Louisville fans shouldn’t worry about the Cardinals letting up anytime soon, as they have an experienced coach that will not let them step off the gas pedal. Here are some of the best quotes from his press conference today via Twitter.

It’s pretty awesome to see the Louisville football team making true on their goals so far this season. Petrino talked about the National Championship goal at the preseason ACC media day and it seems as though they are well on their way. Obviously, there is still a long way to go in 2016, but this has been the first time in ten years that Louisville has been considered one of the nation’s top teams.

The Cardinals will head to play the Marshall Thundering Herd on Saturday night. Expect them to come out very focused in a game where they are playing a lesser opponent. The Herd just gave up over 60 points at home over a week ago. It seems as though the Cardinals could do much worse than that on Saturday and Jackson will go his forth straight game without playing all four quarters.
