The Louisville football team is facing a tall task against Florida State on Saturday. Today however, we take a look at the offensive numbers of the Seminoles through week two.
Louisville football is looking to take the next step in the ACC this Saturday as they face off against Jimbo Fisher’s Florida State Seminoles. Whoever wins this match-up will be in great position to compete for an ACC title and one College Football Playoff spot this season.
Louisville fans know how great the Cardinal’s offense can be under sophomore quarterback Lamar Jackson, but do you know how the Seminole’s offense has done so far this season?
Florida State has, unsurprisingly, started the 2016 season 2-0. They have also jumped up to the second spot in the country in the latest poll by the Associated Press. Wins over Ole Miss and Charleston Southern have the Seminoles feeling confident coming into Papa Johns Cardinal Stadium.
FSU will be playing in front of a rowdy Louisville crowd this Saturday afternoon, therefore they need to be able to communicate well on offense in order to win. It will be Deondre Francois’ first true road game of his young career, but he has done very well so far this season anyways.
Let’s take a look at Florida State’s offensive stats so far this season, courtesy of ESPN Stats.

The fundamentals got a little sloppy last week on the road in Syracuse. It may have been the no-huddle offense that finally got to the defense, but one thing is for sure, they have to have a better tackling effort on Saturday.
Cook has been the Cardinal-killer for the last two seasons. If Louisville has any chance of beating Florida State on Saturday, it will be because the Cards’ defense found a way to make Cook a non-factor.
