What started with DeSean Jackson in a high school all-American game on national TV, and has — mind-numbingly — occurred again Saturday night at the Ohio State-Oklahoma game.
Sooner Joe Mixon scored on a 97-yard kickoff return, but video showed that the sophomore running back didn't actually score. He dropped the ball a stride before entering the end zone.
For a detailed answer as to what exactly happened, I turned to our FOX Sports rules expert Mike Pereira, who explained why OU should've gotten the ball at the 1-yard-line. He also offered an explanation as to how the refs botched the call.
