Honors keep coming for Michigan CB Lewis

Published Oct. 14, 2015 5:56 p.m. ET

Two days after being named the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week, Michigan cornerback Jourdan Lewis was tabbed the top player at his position in the country.

The Oklahoma Sports Hall of Fame, which hands out the annual Jim Thorpe Award to the nation's best defensive back, picked Lewis as the Thorpe Player of the Week Wednesday after he helped the Wolverines rout Northwestern on Saturday.

Lewis, a junior from Detroit, had four tackles and notched a back-breaking interception in Michigan's 38-0 win.

His pick-six late in the second quarter made it 28-0 and put a severe dent in any hopes Northwestern had of rallying at the Big House.
