Gamecocks need to rely on stars to pull the upset

Georgia is a prohibitive favorite at home versus an undermanned South Carolina team this upcoming Saturday.
The Gamecocks are without their starting quarterback, and the lack of development within some scholarship players has led to a massive implementation of walk-ons within the two-deep.
As a result, there's even more of an impetus on Pharoh Cooper and Brandon Wilds to play well if South Carolina has any shot at pulling the upset.
Cooper is the big-play threat for the Gamecocks in its receiver corps. Of the 17 passes caught by South Carolina receivers, Cooper has 12 of those grabs. This is even when he's routinely double-teamed.
Wilds has double the amount of carries to the next running back on the roster. Understandably so, he leads the team in rushing yards (157). He's also a threat out of the backfield, catching six passes for 66 yards in two games.
Last week versus Kentucky, Cooper had 100 receiving yards on nine catches. Wilds rushed for 106 yards on 16 carries. It's only the third time since 2011 in which South Carolina has had a 100-yard rusher and 100-yard receiver in the same game.
If Steve Spurrier's team is to beat Georgia, Wilds and Cooper will yet again have to come up with monster statistical outputs.
