After FSU football moved up in both polls following the Wake Forest win, here are the three quick takeaways for fans from the latest rankings.
The week seven slate of games saw some crazy things happen, so crazy that Clemson won their game and was leap-frogged by Michigan for the No. 3 spot.
Clemson is No. 4 after narrowly escaping NC State in overtime. A game they should have lost but NC State’s kicker missed what would have been a winning field goal at the end of regulation.
The ‘Noles moved up one spot to No. 13 in the AP poll and holds the No. 15 spot in the Coaches Poll. They’ll welcome Clemson to Tallahassee after the upcoming bye week.
What were the biggest takeaways from the newest Top 25 polls this week, and what does it mean for the coming week? Here’s the three things we found most important from the newest rankings.

FSU Still Alive For NY6 Spot?
No. 13 is still alive for a NY6 bowl game if they continue to win. They have a tall order coming up against Clemson, but a win there would put the ‘Noles in position to capture a huge bowl game even with two losses.
A win over No. 4 Clemson would put the ‘Noles back in the top 10 for sure. FSU football has all winnable games on the schedule after that and then invite Florida to Tallahassee to finish the regular season.
Florida is currently ranked No. 15 in the AP poll, and actually in front of the ‘Noles at No. 13 in the Coaches Poll.
A win over Florida would put the ‘Noles at 9-3 or 10-2 with wins over three or possibly four ranked teams.
There’s still hope!

ACC Still Holding Strong
The ACC still have two teams in the top 10 with Clemson at No. 3 and Louisville at No. 7. Clemson will take on No. 13 FSU next, and Louisville will take on No. 11 Houston later in the season.
Clemson is in the driver’s seat to win the ACC if they win out.
The ACC has four teams in the top 15 in the country.

UNC comes in at No. 22 in the AP Poll and No. 21 in the Coaches Poll. VT leaves the rankings after one week, losing to lowly Syracuse on the road.

Week 8 Has Huge Games In ACC
The ACC has four games taking place in week eight and three of those games could have huge implications.
Miami will travel to Lane Stadium on Thursday night to take on the Virginia Tech Hokies. If Virginia Tech loses that game, they might eliminate themselves for a shot at winning the ACC Coastal.
Miami is pretty much eliminated with two ACC losses unless something crazy happens.
The ACC Atlantic division will see Louisville travel to Carter-Finley Stadium to take on the NC State Wolfpack.
Louisville played a tight game against Duke in their last outing, and NC State should have beaten Clemson on Saturday. Don’t sleep on the Wolfpack unless they have a letdown game after the emotional loss.
UNC will travel to Virginia where they have struggled historically. If UNC wins and VT losses, UNC would control their destiny even though they lost to VT.
