FSU Football: Dalvin Cook Left Off List of 2016 Heisman Finalists
FSU running back Dalvin Cook, for the second straight season, was left off the list of finalists for the Heisman Trophy.
For the second straight season, Florida State Seminoles running back Dalvin Cook had a season of over 1,600 yards while becoming the school’s career rushing yards and rushing touchdowns leader.
For the second straight season, the FSU star will be watching the Heisman Trophy ceremony from home instead of being in New York City as a finalist for the award – supposedly handed out to the best player in college football.
Announced Monday night, the five finalists do include two players Cook faced already this season – and one he will see in the upcoming Orange Bowl game:

There is no argument that most of those players deserve to be there without question – the jury is still out on Westbrook when you compare his numbers as a receiver to Cook’s as a back – so the debate is not what spot Dalvin Cook should have taken.
For fans of the Seminoles, it’s disappointing because as long as he has been in Tallahassee, Dalvin Cook has shined under the bright lights and made a name for himself as one of the best players in all of football. For the second straight season, it seems he will come up just short of adding to his already very nice resume.
The Heisman Trophy award will be handed out this Saturday at 8 PM on ESPN.
