Former K-State tight end Shad Meier carries on late brother's memory

Shad Meier, who played tight end at K-State in the late ’90s, remembers his brother Dylan, who also played football at KSU, the best way he can: By passing on Dylan's zest for life.
Dylan, who was a quarterback for the Wildcats from 2002-06, died in a hiking accident in 2010. Shortly after his tragic death, Shad was inspired to create a foundation centered upon the zestful life that Dylan lived.
"We started Get Busy Livin' after Dylan left us," Shad tells K-State Sports Extra. "It started with the purpose to carry on the message and the life that he lived; to carry on what he valued: a zestful, adventurous life, a concern for health, a help to others.
"At first, we didn't really know what we were going to do, but we knew if we could just get something started, get a name, we'd be fine."
