Florida State offensive lineman Ball no longer on roster

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) Florida State offensive lineman Josh Ball is no longer on the university's football roster.

A school spokesman says Ball is ''not in good standing with Florida State University.'' No further details were provided Thursday.

Ball was accused of battery last year, but was not charged by Tallahassee Police. The two sides did come to a resolution last November on protection against dating violence, where Ball could not contact his former girlfriend or come within 500 feet of her home or 100 feet on campus.

Ball, who would have been a sophomore this upcoming season, played in all 13 games for the Seminoles last year and started the final nine at left tackle.
