Quarterback Dylan Favre, nephew of NFL legend Brett Favre, led the winning drive in Mississippi State's Maroon-White spring game over the weekend.

According to Press Register (Mobile, Ala.), Dylan Favre was at the helm Saturday for an eight-play, 59-yard drive that was capped off by Sylvester Hemphill's 2-yard touchdown run with 1:19 to play.

Dylan Favre, a redshirt freshman, is battling Tyler Russell for the backup quarterback job behind Chris Relf. Dylan Favre completed 17 of 26 passes for 199 yards, one touchdown and one interception. The 5-foot-10 Favre was also the leading rusher on the day, carrying 10 times for 41 yards.

"To me, I'm still battling for the No. 1 job, until somebody tells me otherwise," Favre told the Press Register. "With my height, I think my mobility, my ability to make plays with my feet, kind of compensates for it."
