Ex-Mizzou star Sam trying for one more NFL chance
It appears as if the professional football career of Michael Sam isn't quite finished.
The former SEC Co-Defensive Player of the Year took to Twitter and divulged that he plans on attempting an NFL career for one last time.
It's been a colorful last couple of years for the Texas native. Sam came out as gay prior to the 2014 NFL Draft. He became the first publicly gay player to be drafted in the NFL.

After bouncing around with both St. Louis and Dallas, Sam went north of the border to play for the Montreal Alouettes -- before leaving shortly after. He's since explored multiple avenues in the entertainment realm -- including appearing on the television show Dancing with the Stars.
Sam's talent on the football field is undeniable. As a senior in arguably the best conference, Sam led the SEC in sacks (11.5) and tackles for loss (19.0).
Assuming he can get back into the requisite shape needed to play at the highest level, Sam is more than capable of potentially latching on to a team -- even if it means playing on a practice squad.
