Boise State coach Chris Petersen hopes to redshirt the younger brother of his starting quarterback this season.

Kirby Moore, a sophomore wide receiver and brother of Bronco quarterback Kellen Moore, is healthy.

But Petersen told reporters he'd like to give Kirby Moore time to develop his skills, given that the third-ranked Broncos already has a slew of talented receivers.

Kirby Moore, from Prosser, Wash., caught 21 passes for two touchdowns last season, including a 61-yarder for a score against San Jose State.

Petersen also said running backs coach Keith Abu Bhonapha has returned to coaching duties.

That's after Bhonapha was barred from traveling to the team's 33-30 win over Virginia Tech on Sept. 6 in Landover, Md., following a drunken driving arrest.
