Alabama RB Derrick Henry held out of practice

Published Sep. 23, 2015 8:07 p.m. ET

Don't worry Tide fans, while Derrick Henry did miss practice Wednesday, he isn't injured. No, he missed practice due to tonsillitis.

Nick Saban addressed his star player's absence from practice during his Wednesday media session.

"Derrick Henry is the only guy that you might ask about," Saban said. "He was sick with tonsillitis, I think, yesterday. Probably could have practiced today, but rather than take a chance, we did not practice him today. But we expect him to be back tomorrow."

Alabama's offense would be in dire straits without Henry, as arguably the team's best player, the running back has been the focal point of their offense this season. For the season, Henry has racked up 370 rushing yards on 54 carries (6.9-yard average) with seven touchdowns.
