MILWAUKEE (AP) Steve Wojciechowski's first season as Marquette head coach has ended with two key young players recovering from injuries and the departure of a veteran forward.

Wojciechowski announced Wednesday that sophomore center Luke Fischer will have left shoulder surgery. The 6-foot-11 Fischer averaged 11.0 points in 24 games after becoming eligible in December following a transfer from Indiana.

Wojciechowski said freshman guard Duane Wilson fractured his left wrist during last week's over Seton Hall in the Big East Tournament. Fischer and Wilson are important building blocks for a rebuilding program that finished 13-19 this season.

The team also announced the departure of junior reserve Steve Taylor Jr., who was recruited by former coach Buzz Williams. Taylor plans to transfer.
