Wofford 69, Virginia-Wise 66

Kevin Giltner scored 17 points and Brad Loesing and Aerris Smith scored 14 each as Wofford overcame Virginia-Wise, an NAIA opponent, 69-66 Saturday night.
The Terriers (6-4) overcame a 27-point performance by the Cavaliers' Travis Berry, including 17 in the second half and 5 of 9 on 3-pointers.
Giltner gave Wofford a 65-60 lead by making two free throws with 45 seconds left, but Berry's 3-pointer 7 seconds later cut the lead to 65-63.
Loesing's two free throws with 21 seconds left made it 67-63, but Berry got fouled while making a layup at the 14-second mark, and his free throw made it 67-66.
Giltner was fouled with 11 seconds to go and made both to give Wofford its final margin. Darius Smith missed a layup try with 4 seconds left for Virginia-Wise (3-6), which was playing the game as an exhibition.
Norris Gaskins added 15 points for Virginia-Wise.
