Without its leading scorer, Tennessee trounces LSU 81-65


KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) Armani Moore had 17 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists Saturday as Tennessee withstood the absence of leading scorer Kevin Punter Jr. in an 81-65 victory over LSU.
Ben Simmons was out of LSU's starting lineup for the first time all season, though the standout freshman entered 4 1/2 minutes into the game and had 21 points and nine rebounds.
Punter injured his right foot Thursday in a loss at No. 14 Kentucky. Punter averages 22.2 points per game and entered the day ranked 10th among all Division I players in scoring.
Without Punter on the floor, Tennessee (13-14, 6-8 SEC) relied on a balanced attack. Robert Hubbs III scored 19 points, Shembari Phillips had 13 and Detrick Mostella added 10.
Antonio Blakeney scored 20 for LSU, which has lost three of its last four games. LSU (16-11, 9-5) played the entire second half without starting guard Keith Hornsby.
