Key Returners: Forward Nigel Hayes (12.4 points, 6.2 rebounds) and guard Bronson Koenig (8.7 points, 2.5 assists) are the new leaders on a team that has gone to back-to-back Final Fours. Two other juniors, forward Vitto Brown and guard Zak Showalter, will take on more responsibility after coming off the bench last season.
Who Left: The Badgers lost about two-thirds of their scoring and rebounding from last year, along with more than half of their assists, with the departures of Player of the Year Frank Kaminsky, along with forward Sam Dekker and guards Josh Gasser and Traevon Jackson. Duje Dukan provided frontcourt help off the bench.
The Skinny: Hayes and Koenig will have to adjust as opponents start planning around them. They're a solid one-two punch, but how far the Badgers go this season may depend on the development of first-year players, including forward Ethan Happ and Charlie Thomas and guard Khalil Iverson.
